How We Got Here

Hi, hi! My name’s Jennifer Prouse and I am gifted at gifting. At every occasion, friends, colleagues, and family members of mine tell me that I always get the most thoughtful and perfect gifts; no matter the person. What can I say it’s a gift! For the past twenty-five years, I have worked as a buyer and curator for a small, family business along the Jersey shoreline. Recently, I have felt that my work environment didn’t respect my talents and skills as a woman and as an entrepreneur. I came to the realization that I needed to make a change. Since the owners of the business have agreed to sell the property, I decided it’s a perfect time for me to embark on a new beginning. So I quit my job and began to search for a new career path at the bright age of fifty-one. I have been twiddling with the idea of my own online shop and blog for awhile now, but no ideas ever seemed to stick just right. The idea for this sight came whilst I was wrapping a graduation gift for a close family friend of mine. I was tying a bow of tulle on top of the bag when it hit me. Toile and Tulle.

My online shop combines my experience in over twenty-five years in the retail and my talent of gift giving in one convenient website. Here at Toile and Tulle we provide the average gifter with the tools and finesse to become the gift giving wizard of their family. I want everyone to find the most thoughtful gifts for everyone in their life. Each gift sold on our site is personalized and unique so the consumer can find the gift that speaks to the receiver. I wanted to create a website that encourages men and women alike to step out of their comfort zones and envision a better future like I did. The best way I think to heal is through the power of gift giving. Everyone feels empowered and appreciated when they receive a thoughtful gift. A gift conveys so much love and passion when their is thought put into it. Also a little tulle never hurt nobody.
